(I) Release and Conveyance of 3 Oct 1843
Parties:
(i) John Crichton Stuart, 2nd Marquis of Bute and 7th Earl of Dumfries;
(ii) John Gray of Luton, builder
Reciting:
- lease & release of 25/26 Apr 1831 (1) Rev.John Kaye, Bishop of Lincoln; William Stuart, esquire [trustees of marriage settlement of (ii) of 14/15 Jul 1818); (2) (i) and Maria, Marchioness of Bute and Countess of Dumfries; (3) John Gray; (4) Charles Austin in which (1) and (2) conveyed (a)-(b) to (3) with (4) as his trustee for 81

- (5) had contracted to buy (a)-(g) from (1) free from all incumbrances for £3,420;
- (1) had agreed with (2)-(5) that the £3,420 should be applied as follows: £2,093 to (2) for (V) above; £379/10/- and two sums of £268/15/- to (3); £410 to (4)

(g) tenement adjoining (f) in occupation of William Cooke;
