  • Title
    Copy Bill of charges "laid out by the Constable of Wymington for carrying a carriage belonging to His Majesty's forces (April 1722) from Bedford to Higham Ferrier" (Northants) under warrant of Wm.Hillersdon Esq., Justice of the Peace. Cost of "the hire of 7 horses & a wagon for one night and "the greater part of two days" hay, provender, cost of hiring two men & expenses for same set out, two amounts being quoted of £1.15.2. & £1. 13. 6d. To which attached a note that when the constables applied to Q.S. for allowance from the county they were told "there was nothing to be allowed when application was not made within the year, which was nothing but a put off." July 1724. Application made by the Constable, John Clement for some allowance from the county towards the costs, this being allowed.
