'At a vestry meeting held at Stotfold Church on Monday the fifth of October Eight Hundred and Eighteen. To Henry Roe esq of Baldock in the County Hertford attorney we whoes names are under signed being parrisheners of Stotfold in the County of Bedford do desire and authorise you the attorney above named to act for us or any of us for the use of the Poore of the parish of Stotfold to Recover for the use of the said poore the sum of five pounds per yeare wich was left by John Fitzakerley esq for the use of the said poore wich is now in the poscion of Dr Maqueen esq: and likewise foure years wich hath not being paid.'
