- Scope and ContentRequesting proof that Fitzakerley did not possess other land in the parish to which the annunity could be attached. 'I readily admit that Roger Irons had been in the habit of deducting five pounds from my rent under the Demonimation of Poor-Money. I never thought of questioning the right, or examining into the subject, while I was unacquainted with the character of Irons, and the generality of the Stotfold people. But having since found them with few exceptions to be regardless of truth, and utterly unworthy of confidence, I conceive it to be a duty I owe to my family to call for evidence...It is more than One hundred years since Dr John Potter, afterwards, Archbishop of Canterbury received these lands as the marriage portion of his wife Elizabeth Venner. How long before they had been possessed by the Venner Family I am unable to say....'
