From: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford “I enclose you Messrs Anstee & Co.’s cheque for £376.3.9 and will pay £60 or £80 if I can manage it to your account on Monday next. Mr Longmore wrote to say that he had received no intimation of Mr Lettsom’s interest being paid into Smith Payne to your paid account. I have today written to Messrs Smith Payne & Co. on the subject - I paid it in, last Monday. Money comes in slow the strand trade is bad in due to the high rate of discount.”
