I was afraid the terms you proposed would not be accepted, in fact I had a letter from Lucy saying so, only a few days ago. I suppose John & George have now to settle with Charles for the balance of the £2,000 as I know Caroline refused to have any part of guaranteeing the amount required. Charles is still down in Wales & I hope to hear that the valuation is completed & he in full possession. I see Thurnall wanted an answer by Wednesday. I shall be glad to know what answer you send to him".
