- Scope and ContentFrom: Lucy Sworder [Thomas of Luton's mother], Dowlais; To: Thomas Sworder, Luton "I only received the cheque this morning or I should have acknowledged it sooner. I am very much obliged by your sending it & hope to make the best use of it. Did you know I and Caroline were staying here[?]. We came last Thursday five weeks we like it so well. It is uncertain when we leave and it may be the last time we shall have the opportunity, if Robert leaves. It's not a desirable place for a young man to come to, that I feel thankful Charles did not come or ever will, I hope. I like this part better than I thought I should at first. People are very kind to us. The weather has been bad. We have not seen the beauties of the Country. I hope to see a little before we leave. I think the Welch air very nice. I hope your wife is quite strong again & the rest of you well if not try Welch air. Lucy is at Brighton the last account was a little better".
