- Scope and ContentFrom: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "I am glad to hear that you have been so fortunate in having your wishes realized in being presented with another daughter. I hope both Aunt & little Alice (which I think you settled as to be her name) are going on well. The news I heard all the way from Lincolnshire. I also heard from there that George Hawks was dead, but W.Medland did not say whether it was G.Hawks of Rotherhithe. On calling at the Bank I found that you had paid into the Bank to our account £126.12.9, the Balance of George & John's share, for which we are obliged. I expect I shall shortly get in all the Abstracts. Aunt had better accompany you when she is well enough the change will do her good there is plenty of room for the children to run about. Some of the Mortgagors are anxious to get their mortgage money".
