'I was employed by Mr Christopher Pryor of Stopsley to thrash wheat for him - Thomas Pedder thrashed with me - our master directed us to sell straw for platting at prices fixed by him on the Thursday of last week I sold several parcels of my master's straw to John Green's wife and several other persons, I took the price and I carried part of it into the house & gave it to my master's daughter as the price of wheat I had sold, but I kept back half pence to the value of three shillings I gave one half of this to Thomas Pedder & I kept the rest.'
