Scope and Content
The register for the period 1595 to 1653 is missing and was evidently lost some time ago. The terrier for 1708 states that "the oldest Register now to be found bares date in the year of our Lord 1560". A terrier of 1825 misleadingly gives the dates of the first register as "1563-1723", but correct particulars are given in the 1865 terrier. The missing volume is not listed in the 1865 list.
Originals will not be produced where surrogates exist.
