- messuage called Symmes, a close of pasture called Lacyes, and 24 acres of arable and ½ acre of meadow, now in the tenure of William Mychell alias Serche, lying in the fields of Milton; which the grantors had purchased of William Smythe senior, of Chalgrave Esq., and William Smythe, his son, by deed dated 25 January 1 and 2 Philip and Mary [1554/5] Grant "to the use and behoof of the inhabitants of the town of Milton Bryan aforesaid and their successors for ever, the profits thereof from time to time arising to be converted to whatever use whatsoever at the proper time shall be necessary for the inhabitants and their successors inhabitants of the town aforesaid"
