Correspondence concerning lack of playing field facilities in Lower Stondon; initial efforts to secure a playing field were made by the Mayfield Crescent Tenants Association; the file includes enquiries into ownership of land in Station Road, Lower Stondon (delineated on an included plan), the Mayfield Playground Management Committee proposed using this land if the owner could not be found, however an owner was eventually traced who sold the land for market gardening purposes. Other sites were considered, but by 1967 none had been found.
