Howard jun. sometime of Caddington & late of Kensworth, gent., who survived all the Trustees in the Bargain & Sale hereafter described except D.L.); (ii) Jas. M'Kenzie; as (iii) Rev. John Gibbons, Danl. Fossey, Rev. Thos. Scott, Robt. Howard, Thos. Parkins, & Jas. Baldwyn (trustees). [Recites Bargain & Sale (enrolled), dated 17 Dec. 1754: Rich. Brugis & w. Mary to Rev. Wm. Pittman D.D., then vicar of Kensworth, Danl. Liberty, then churchwarden, Henry Howard of Caddington, gent., Wm. Howard of Redbourne (co. Herts.), gent., the sd. Thos. Howard jun., & Jos. Howard of Kensworth, gent. -- A close (2a.) in Caddington (co. Herts.) formerly called Carley but then Abotts, formerly in possn. of Dinah Mayles widow, decd., late of [blank] Abbott, decd.) & then of John Ricks on, with the ground theretofore of John Chamberlaine & then late of Thos. Robbins on S., & that thentofore of Thos. Byrchmore on N.E., abutting W. in Watling Street; and also a close in Caddington (2a.), formerly called Shitlington Close but then Bass Lane formerly in possn. of John Osborne (father of John O. of Dunstable, innholder), 4 then of John Ricks on, with the ground of Thos. Byrchmore on both sides, & abutting S.W. into Bass Lane. (In trust for the placing of 5 children of the poorest of the inhabitants of Kensworth in a school in or near Kensworth, and to provide each with a common prayer-book)]. -- The said property, on the same trusts].
