Pittman D.D., then vicar of Kensworth, Danl. Liberty, then churchwarden, Henry Howard of Caddington, gent., Wm. Howard of Redbourne (co. Herts.), gent., the sd. Thos. Howard jun., & Jos. Howard of Kensworth, gent. -- A close (2a.) in Caddington (co. Herts.) formerly called Carley but then Abotts, formerly in possn. of Dinah Mayles widow, decd., late of [blank] Abbott, decd.) & then of John Ricks on, with the ground theretofore of John Chamberlaine & then late of Thos. Robbins on S., & that thentofore of Thos. Byrchmore on N.E., abutting W. in Watling Street; and also a close in Caddington (2a.), formerly called Shitlington Close but then Bass Lane formerly in possn. of John Osborne (father of John O. of Dunstable, innholder), 4 then of John Ricks on, with the ground of Thos. Byrchmore on both sides, & abutting S.W. into Bass Lane.
