    Taken at Shefford before Sir Robert Newdigate kt. Sir Oliver Luke, kt. Wm. Plomer esq. Thos. Anscell esq., Commissioners under the Great Seal on the oath of 15 jurors: John Clarke, Wm. Humfrye, Rich. Osborne, Jn. Cranfield, Clement East, Jn. Raymond, Jn. Searle, Thos. Harper, Wm. Allen, Jn. Tingey, John Clarke, Jonathan Chambers, Thos. Swinglehurste, Thos. Goodcheape and Thos. Steevens, who stated that the lands set out below had been perpetually used for the relief of the poor of Northill and of the common town charges until 32 years ago, when Geo. Smyth (now decd.) illegally seized the land, and that the rents due (£44 16s.) could be claimed from Thos. Smyth, son of Geo. ... a parcel of meadow called Church Piece Meadow, 2a., in Calcot Mead, lying E on Fanne flg. and W on meadow once of the Abbot of Warden now in the occ. of Thos. Smyth, gent. value 8s. p.a. ... ½a meadow lying in Widehey, bounded N by lands of the lord of Northill and S by lands of Rich. Tyshmershe, abtg E on "the currant" and W on the back stream, value 3s. 4d. p.a. ... 1a meadow in Widehey bet. land of Wm. Brownsall N and Rich. Tyshmersh S, value 6s. 8d. p.a. ... 3r in Widehey, Jn. Tyshmersh S and Edw.Bray N, 5s. p.a. ... 7½r. meadow in Millholme in occ. Robt. Carter of Hatch; 1 swarth of meadow in Widefann, both in the occ. of Robt. Carter; 3r. arable in Prig Dole in occ. Robt. Carter; 1½r. on Brook flg., all these being of the yearly value of 5s. Sigs. and marks of jurors.
