    He has received a letter from his wife; is sorry to hear that she is blamed for what he did, and that his brother Thomas has (apparetly) turned her out. He is sorry to hear that his sister Susan has died - "James must be in a bad way with them two poor children". Letter on same sheet to his father and mother, saying that he is well off for food and clothes, and can get a glass on Sunday, only he receives no wages and cannot go where he likes. Letter to wife resumed on same sheet, discussing the possiblility of her coming out to join him. He will be free in 12 months. He refers to several of the children, "I sospose they are men and womin now". [This letter has also been written for him, but in a less literate hand.]
