- Scope and ContentFrom: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "The residuary account is nearly ready to be sent & if you do not come over on Saturday I shall most likely come over to Hertford next week but I hope you will be able to come. I send you the letter back. We did owe Adams & Co nearly £1,000 but it was paid off last month. When we settled Uncle John's Account which came to £910 we were obliged to overdraw & have ever since been in Debt until last month. I expected Uncle John would have come over ere this, but as he has perhaps heard we are lodging with a dissenting person he would not like to be brought into contact with him for fear of being contaminated".
