    1) Francis, Duke of Bedford, K.G. 2) Charles Ward, Rector, and Francis Read and Leonard Read, yeomen, Churchwardens. Conveyance by 1) to 2) under the Act for the Conveyance and Endowment of sites for schools, 8 Vict. - all that plot or parcel of land in the Church Close, 24 poles. :E. lane leading to Maulden Church and Rectory :all other sides, land belonging to the Duke of Bedford To hold to 2) upon trust to permit the premises and buildings erected there to be used as a school for the education of children and adults, or children only, of the labouring, manufacturing and other poorer classes of the Parish of Maulden. School to be in Union with and conducted upon the principles of the Incorporated National Society for promoting the education of the poor in the principles of the Established Church. School to be open to inspection by H.M. Inspectors. Minister to have superintendence of moral and religious instruction [Other clauses concerning management of the school] Endorsed: note of enrollment in Chancery, 9 August 1849.
