Justices' precept to Northill overseers to maintain militia man's wife. Elizabeth Stokes, Northill, wife of Samuel Stokes, serving in the Bedfordshire Militia, to be paid 2s weekly, commencing 26 May [1811] the sum to be reimbursed by the Warden Overseer. Attached: Militia service certificate. Samuel Stokes enrolled 19 April 1811 as a substitute for James Fowster of Warden.
