[Extract of original made Sept. 3 1825] Examination of Daniel Nightingale. Born St. Neots, Hunts, where his father belonged. Now nearly 22yrs old. That on 3rd Sept. 1825 apprenticed to Benjamen Thornton of Islip, blacksmith for 7yrs. from 29 July 1825. He worked for Thornton for 3½yrs & slept in his house. Thornton died & his widow told him she had nothing for him to do. Has worked since for several different masters. No settlement
