    He was born in Wootton; and knows the estate at Pillinge, formerly of Fra Austin esq., which was sold about 1811, in 3 parts:- one bought by the tenant, Wm Hewlett, who subsequently sold to Wm Cobb, but continued to rent it from him for about 25 years; two parts bought by Smith, of which: - one was bought by Mrs. Skinner of Woburn and now occupied by Emery Bodgers; one was bought by Wm Parsons and let by him to Wm Hewlett, who occupied it till 1847, when it was sold to Mr. Cranfield who now occupies; there was formerly on the estate a rent-charge of £3 p.a. to the Widows' Charity (to 6 poor widows), and this was apportioned in 1811 at 19s., £1 7s. 6d., and 13s. 6d. Mrs. Skinner's share has always been paid to the Vicar.
