    Information and Application of Elizabeth Breed of Caldecote in the Parish of Northill that Edward Burnap of Old Warden Lodge, Warden was the father of her bastard child. She was in the service of Burnap who sent her to Southill Station with his overcoat. he walked home with by Warden Fields. He pulled her to the ground and had 'connection' with her. About 2 months later she left his service and went to London to a situation. While there Burnap went to see her and asked her if she was having a child. She replied that she was and he gave her 6d. He returned the next day and asked her again. Elizabeth told him he was the father of her child. He did not deny it. When she returned to Caldecote she went to see Burnap with her aunt, Mrs Sims, wife of Thomas Sims, and her mother. Elizabeth told him she had come to see what he was going to do for her and the baby. He did not answer her. He ordered them all out of his house. His wife was there. Report of Emma Sims, aunt to Elizabeth. She confirmed what Elizabeth had reported. She said to Burnap 'You had the child away at 13 and a half - aint you ashamed of yourself - your (sic) older than her father - I'm surprised at you'. He never answered. She returned with Elizabeth and the baby. He didn't say anything but told them to go to Mr Hooper, the Lawyer.
