- - a messuage in St. Cuthbert's, heretofore occ.
Robt. Brown, late Thos. Lane;
an orchard E. of sd. messuage abtg. E. on Collins
close; S. on land sometime of Wm. Grant, then
Thos. Christie; N. partly on the Queen's highway,
and partly on land of St. John's Hospital;
recites:-
23 Oct. 1694: assignment to attend the inheritance;
Thos. Lane, being possessed of a term of 1000 yrs.
formerly made by Robt. Brown of Bedford, gardener,
and then having purchased of Mary Brown (Robt.'s dau.),
the remainder and inheritance of sd. messuage, kept
term afoot in one Geo. Richardson of Bedford,
innholder, now decd.;
residue of term now vested in Thos. Field in trust for
Thos. Lane;
3 Oct. 1711: marriage settlement:
(i) Thos. Lane
(ii) Robt. Clare & Jn. Whitton
(iii) Wm. Upton & Anne Holloway
to the use of (iii) on completion of marriage;
