    Letter from Geo. Byng, 1st Viscount Torrington, 1st Commissioner of the Admiralty, at the Treasury Office, to 'Gentlemen', asking for an imprest of £300 for the messenger to the Treasury Office to the Navy, to enable him to pay porters, coals, candles, parish duties, postage etc. relating to the said Office to Christmas last; signed 'Torrington'. Pasted on facing page: Print of Byng, engraved by W.H. Mote, after Kneller's portrait, presented to Greenwich Hospital by George IV. [See also A.D1090]
