  • Title
    Wm. Law, hatmaker. Apprenticed to Chas. Moll, Bedford St. Paul, for 7 years. Served 5½ years and parted by agreement and agreed to serve the remainder with Jn. Willis of Bermondsey St., Southwark, feltmaker, the last 15 weeks of his apprenticeship he served with Wm. Eyres, St. John, Southwark, feltmaker. During the last 15 weeks he lodged with John Hills at the "3 jolly Hatters" in Bermondsey Street, St. Olave, Southwark. He afterwards worked as ajourneyman at the same trade. In 1776 he rented a house & workshop from John Blackwell, in St. Pauls, Bedford at £7 per year and also rented a selling shop in the same from Wm. Palmer at £3 per year. He pays poor and church rates on the former only.
