Aged 28; born Beverley, Yorks.; apprenticed for 3 years at 18 to Wm. Cookson, Carlisle, calico printer. Afterwards let himself for a year to Jn. Gray of Gt. Driffield, Yorks., calico printer. Married the day before the examination to Mary Hall at St. Pauls.
