    Information of William Cooper, Baker of Sandy. He was in the High Street, Sandy when he saw William Clark, Coal Merchant of Girtford cruelly beating a boy named Piont with a whip. Cooper said to Clark 'You'd make a sharp schoolmaster.' Clark replied 'I'll serve you the same' and immediately attacked Cooper across the legs with the whip.. Cooper's hat fell off and Clark knocked it up the street with his whip. Clark was drunk. Information of Frank Kelly of Sandy who was walking home. He saw Clark thrashing a boy with a whip. After passing Clark he saw Cooper and stopped to speak to him. Clark came along with a horse and cart. Cooper said to him 'You would make a sharp Schoolmaster'. Clark said he would serve him the same. Clarke then struck out at Cooper with the whip across his legs. Cooper's hat fell off and when he tried to retrieve it Clark struck at him again and dared him to pick it up. Information of William Clark Junior, son of William Clark who said that Cooper was standing in front of his father's horse, so his father pushed him out of the way. When Cooper struck out at his father he hit him with his whip. Fine 20/-. Costs 11/6. witness 5/- or one month Hard Labour.
