    Summons issued to Robert Randall of Clifton, for unlawfully and cruelly ill treating a dog by shooting it twice and allowing it to go away in its wounded state. Information of Mary Ann Dilley, single woman who lived near Randall in Clifton. Information of Ann Kitchiner, single woman of Clifton. Information of Frederick Dilley, Servant to Mrs Laurie who used to own the dog. Information of Francis Wade, brother to Mrs Laurie. Information of Peter Coleman, Northampton RSPCA Inspector who spoke to Randall. Randall said that he had intended to kill the dog but that it had run away. Information of James Jenkins, of Shefford, Groom to Dr Hilliard. He went to Mrs Laurie's where he saw the dog, it's hair a little matted with blood. He did not examine the dog but shot it.
