    Occurrence Report of PC James Watts stationed at Sandy that John Pinner, Labourer of Girtford, attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat with a razor and 5 days later he made a second attempt by hanging himself. Information given by Sarah Hook, wife of William Hook, brother of John Pinner, who stated that Pinner was a married man but had not lived with his wife for 20 years and had lived with his sister and her husband for the last 6 years. She called the Doctor Knight when she found that her brother had cut his throat. Information given by Dr Walter Knight, Assistant to Dr Burnett, Surgeon at Sandy, that he went to the Hook's house at 5.00am and found Pinner in bed with a superficial wound to his throat which had not interfered with any important artery or vein nor was the windpipe injured. Pinner had been a patient of Dr Knight's for about 5 years. Information of R W Kinsey, Surgeon who had not been able to detect any unsoundness of mind. Dismissed with a caution.
