Deposition: James Colebron, Bedford, pewterer, servant to Jn. Hancock. 1680
Sara Allen and Hollowfeild's wife bought 3 oz. tin from him. Another time Hollowfield bought 1 1b. block tin, saying he made buttons. The Informacion of James Colebron of the towne of Bedford pewterer taken upon oath, the xxith th day of December A.D. 1679 The Informant saieth that Sara Allen wife of Richard Allen together with Hollowfeild's wife came to Mr. John Hancocks howse in Bedford Brasier (to whom this Examinant is servant) and asked for tyn glas and grain tyn, to whom Mrs. Hancocke replyed, her husband was not at home, and shee could not helpe her to it. But this Informant overhearing her, said hee had some in his chamber which at his Mistress' direction hee fetch and gave it to Hollowfeilds wife who gave Nyne pence for it, it weighing three ounces. And this Informant asked her whether shee would have it all or no. Hollowfeilds wife replied I doe not care let mee have it all. And this Informant saieth that upon St. Stephen's day last Hollofeild himselfe came to Mr. Hancocks shop and asked for a pound of Block tyn and had it, and said hee made Buttons with it. And this Informant being shewed a peece of drosse Mettall that was taken in Hollofeilds chamber saieth that hee having skill knoweth that most of the hart of the Mettall is drawne out of it.
