Copy Admission, Manor of Biggleswade before Samuel Day, gentleman, Steward of Francis Frederick Lovell, esquire, Lord of the Manor Reciting: - surrender of 22 Jun 1814 by John Foster of Biggleswade, merchant for 400 to Joshua Malden of Biggleswade, auctioneer of (a) - surrender never presented; - will of Joshua Malden of 7 Dec 1837 devising (a) to his daughter Mary Morton, (being described as messuages in occupation of John Bewers and William Conquest) for her life remainder to George Newbery and John Ryland in trust to receive rents etc. for benefit of children of Mary Morton during life of Elizabeth Burton then in trust for sale; - Joshua Malden devised (b) to George Newbery and John Ryland upon trust to receive rents etc. for benefit of Mary Morton and Elizabeth Burton, then in trust for sale; - death of Joshua Malden on 21 May 1839 and proof of his will and codicil in PCC on 8 Aug 1839; - Mary Morton and Elizabeth Burton were both dead; - John Ryland was dead; - will on John Foster of 6 Feb 1847 devising his real estate to John Nathaniel Foster; - death of John Foster on 7 Jul 1847 and proof of his will in PCC on 24 Sep 1847; - admission of John Nathaniel Foster on 28 Apr 1848 to (a) ; - George Newbery was advised that surrender of 22 Jun 1814 was void as it had not been presented and requested John Nathaniel Foster to surrender (a); - surrender of 24 May 1869 of (a) by John Nathaniel Foster to George Newbery Operative Part: - admission of George Newbery to (a) by Thomas James Hooper, his attorney Property: (a) cottage with two other cottages, two barns, yard and garden in Shortmead Street, Biggleswade containing on W fronting the street 77 feet and extending eastwards 154 feet, formerly part of estate of Edward Allbone, then Eddis Allbone, his son to which John Foster was admitted tenant on 28 Apr 1813 on surrender of John Lawrence, Martha Newton and Christopher Newton (b) messuage in Shortmead Street in occupation of John Gudgin
