- Scope and ContentSaid Examinant Saieth that on the day next after Old Michaelmas Day in the year 1812 he hired himself to John Newman of Wilshamstead in the said County, farmer, for one year, to be his servant in husbandry for the wages of nine pounds; that examinant served the said year and received his full wages, that about November 1813 he married his now wife then Charlotte Goodship at Cardington aforesaid, by whom he hath one male child now living, and that according to the best of his knowledge and belief he hath not since done any act whereby to gain a settlement.
