(3) Mary Maynard of Great Catworth [Huntingdonshire], widow; (4) Robert Eyles of Turvey, innholder and a fine sur conizance etc. levied by William Pendred and Mary his wife in Michaelmas Term 29 Geo.III regarding: sale of a cottage and bakehouse in Carlton; adjoining orchard or pightle of pasture; little dwellinghouse in Carlton; 6 acres of pasture and arable in several pieces in common fields of Carlton and Chellington; 1 acre, 1 rood, 14.5 feet of meadow in several parcels in common fields of Carlton and Chellington to Thomas Pinkerd; - conveyance by lease and release of 4 & 5 Aug 1800 from Thomas Battams of Turvey, gentleman to Thomas Pinkerd of: cottage in Carlton; orchard in Carlton; 6 acres of arable dispersed in common fields of Carlton and Chellington; 1 acre of meadow dispersed in common meadows of Carlton and Chellington; - conveyance by lease and release of 12 & 13 May 1803 between (1) James Lett of Waltham Abbey [Essex], gentleman; (2) Henry Hurst Dugleby of Waltham Abbey, gentleman and Sarah his wife; (3) Thomas Lett late of Bromham, then of Hargrave [Northamptonshire], farmer and Sophia his wife; (4) Thomas Pinkerd; (5) Samuel Skevington of Turvey, yeoman and fine sur conizance etc. levied by James Lett, Henry Hurst and Sarah Dugleby and Thomas and Sophia Lett in easter Term 43 Geo.III regarding: farmhouse and homestall in Carlton; orchard or pightle of pasture containing half an acre in Carlton and Chellington; several pieces of arable and ley containing 66 acres in Carlton and Chellington; 7 acres of meadow dispersed in Carlton and Chellington; Paradise Close and Mill Close in Carlton; common of pasture for 3 beasts and 6 sheep in common fields of Carlton and Chellington sold to Thomas Pinkerd; - feoffment of 30 May 1806 from Thomas Bithrey of Carlton, butcher and Sarah his wife to Thomas Pinkerd with Richard Ere of Turvey, gentleman as trustee (with fine sur conizance etc. levied by Thomas and Sarah Bithrey in Michaelmas Term 47 Geo.III) of: 6 acres of arable in common fields of Carlton and Chellington; 1 acre, 1 rood, 20 perches, 18 feet of meadow dispersed in meadows of Carlton and Chellington; - Inclosure Act of 27 Feb 1807 for Carlton, Chellington and Stevington allotted to Thomas Pinkerd in lieu of the lands conveyed and enfeoffed in the above recited instruments: 11 acres 2 roods and 15 perches in Branchmead Field, Carlton, bounded by Pavenham and Stevington road, ancient enclosure of Benjamin Harper and allotments to Benjamin Harper, Robert Tresler, William Hooper, John Garrard and Edward Bithrey; 35 acres, 2 roods, 9 perches in Church Field, Carlton bounded by Felmersham road, Pavenham-Stevington road and to allotments to Viscount Hampden in Chellington and allotments to John Eyles, Nathaniel Grout, John Markham and Thomas Pinkerd; in exchange for an ancient inclosure called Still Pightle [conveyed on 12 & 13 May 1803 and in 1807 allotted as fourth allotment to Lord Hampden] 3 roods 8 perches in Church Field bounded by Pavenham-Stevington road and allotments to Thomas Pinkerd; in exchange for Paradise Close (allotted to John Garrard as his third allotment) 2 roods, 29 perches in Church Field bounded by Pavenham-Stevington road and allotments to John Markham and Thomas Pinkerd; 9 acres, 3 roods, 19 perches in Church Field, Chellington bounded by homesteads in Chellington, Felmersham road and allotments to Lord Hampden and John Rogers; 4 acres 3 roods 12 perches in Mun[?] Meadows, Chellington, bounded by ancient enclosures called Wallingers and allotments to Lord Hampden and Thomas Alston; 1 acre, 2 roods, 13 perches, part of Wallingers with mounds and fences [in lieu of land given to Thomas Alston as his fourth allotment] bounded by Bridge End Close, another part of Wallingers and allotments to Lord Hampden, Thomas Pinkerd and Thomas Alston; - Thomas Pinkerd died intestate on 3 Nov 1809 leaving the seven daughters referred to above; - administration of the estates, goods and chattels of Thomas Pinkerd granted to Ann Small [then Ann Pinkerd] in PCC on 29 Dec 1809; - Sophia Pinkerd married Thomas Clare on 11 Nov 1806; - marriage settlement by lease and release of 16 & 17 Nov 1810 between (1) Ann Small [then Ann Pinkerd]; (2) Thomas Small; (3) Leigh Richmond and Thomas Eyles of Turvey, innholder [since dead] conveying a seventh part of the real estate of Thomas Pinkerd, deceased, to (3) in trust for (2), remainder to (1); - indenture of 31 Dec 1810 between (1)Thomas Field; (2) Sarah Pinkerd (then about 20 years of age), intended wife of (1); (3) Leigh Richmond and Lomas Small in which after the marriage and (2) became 21, (1) and (2) would convey to (3) the share of Thomas Pinkerd's estate belonging to (2) in trust for sale and to stand possessed of the sale monies in trust for (1) and (2); - no settlement had been made under the indenture of 31 Dec 1810; - marriage on 3 Feb 1818 of Maria Pinkerd and Charles Lavender; Elizabeth, Mary and Letitia Pinkerd remaining unmarried; - (i) desired the estates of Thomas Pinkerd to be advertised for sale by auction at Harrold on 2 Apr 1821 at which (iv) bid the highest price for Lot 8; - (iv) had requested conveyance on trusts Operative Part: - (iv) paid 90/14/3.25 to Leigh Richmond on behalf of Thomas and Ann Small as their one seventh share of 635; - (iv) paid 90/14/3.25 to (iii) on behalf of Lomas and Sarah Field as their one seventh share of 635; - (iv) paid 90/14/3.5 to Thomas and Sophia Clare as their seventh share of 635; - (iv) paid 90/14/3.5 to Elizabeth Pinkerd as her seventh share of 635; - (iv) paid 90/14/3.5 to Letitia Pinkerd as her seventh share of 635; - (iv) paid 90/14/3.5 to Mary Pinkerd as her seventh share of 635; - (iv) paid 90/14/3.5 to Charles and Maria Lavender as their seventh share of 635; - (iv) paid 10/- each to Leigh Richmond and Thomas Small; - (i)-(iii) conveyed (a)-(b) to (iv) to the use of (iv), to the use of (v) to bar dower, to the use of (iv) Property: (a) allotment piece in Nun[?] Meadows, Chellington containing 4 acres, 3 roods, 12 perches bounded by ancient enclosure called Wallingers and allotments to Viscount Hampden and Thomas Alston; (b) allotment of 1 acre, 2 roods, 13 perches, part of Wallingers in Chellington, with mounds and fences belonging to it and bounded by Bridge End Close, other parts of Wallingers and allotments to Viscount Hampden , Thomas Pinkerd and Thomas Alston [The mounds noted as being part of Wallingers may be remains of the deserted medieval village of Chellington in fields near the church] (a)-(b) now occupied as one close of 6 acres, 1 rood, 25 perches by Robert Battams Covenant: - (i) to levy a fine sur conizance etc. to (iv) Witnesses: - John Garrard;
