Statutory Declaration by William Kinns of Cranfield, tailor: - he was 83 years old and had lived in Cranfield all his life; - he knew John Odell the elder, grandfather of Edward Odell, farmer; - John Odell senior had owned a messuage now used as a shop near the church now in occupation of John and Mary Lane; - John Odell had three sons - Edward, John junior and Thomas; - Edward died in his father's lifetime without male heirs; - John Odell junior, now deceased, left Edward as his son and heir; - Thomas Odell died a bachelor in 1844; - sworn before W.B.Bull at Newport Pagnell [Buckinghamshire]
