Attested copy will of William Smith the elder of Leighton Buzzard, sheriff's officer: - devising all real estate to his son William and friend Henry Hankins Franklin of Leighton Buzzard, innkeeper and maltster in trust for sale dividing sale monies, after payment of legacy below, equally amongst the testator's children William, Elizabeth, wife of William Thompson, Hannah, wife of James Sharp and Eliza Ann and his grandson Thomas Thompson; - bequeathing legacy of £30 to his daughter Eliza Ann along with all household goods and furniture; - bequeathing residue of personal estate to William Smith, Elizabeth Thompson, Hannah Sharp, Eliza Ann Smith and Thomas Thompson equally; - witnessed by John Goodman and John Hide; - copy examined on 2 Nov 1860 by Frederick Lawford and Charles Harrington, clerks to Williamson & Austin of Luton, solicitors
