- TitleAndrews, Toledo to Grantham, Madrid (Interesting watermark of Torreador and Bull). `Arrived today from Aranjuex, where lodged at house of Portuguese Ambassador. Admires scenery. Vale of Tagus covered with woods, royal hunting preserve. Environs of Toledo delightful, planted with little villas, "the refectories and dormitories of the rich, lazy, indolent Canons of this overgrown chapter. In about 3 hours walk I saw the Cathedral, Alcazar and other curiosities of this city". In company of Mr. Brindley and Mr. Barry, gives scathing, humourous accounts of both, but adds much obliged to them for showing every civility. Letters may reach him at Mr. Thos. Batter's or Mr. John Nugent's at Cadiz.
