Mentions that Charles had the honour of meeting Mrs Jeffrys at Wimpole Hall. She reports that Countess de Grey had a narrow escape, "by the carelessness of the servants letting some flaming spirits out of the Lamp, fall on her apron; It might have been a dreadful accident, and I rejoice that it ended so well". Mrs Jeffrys nearly fainted and had to be revived by some lavender water. Asks when she is going to Whitehall. Condemns Lord Howes expedition to Gibraltar.
