She breaks off from her letter, as she has been distracted by the noise her two fishes in their bowl are making. Mentions her pet squirrel, which she saved from death after it broke into a chicken house. Advises her that they have found peach dumplings far superior to apple dumplings. Asks her to tell her sister, Amabel, that they have finished the second volume of Lord Lyttleton, which she discusses.
