    Grantham, Newby Hall to Baroness Grantham Describes their travels in the Lakes, when they visited Windermere, Coniston water, and Ullswater. They stayed at Keswick, and visited Ambleside. On the return journey they visited Richmond Castle and Lowther Castle. Compares the area to the Swiss Lakes. He was disappointed with the accommodation, which was dirty. On their return home they found the children well, and Amabel had put on some weight. His brother arrived on Saturday, with a letter from Mr Lawrence. Mentions they were half way on their journey to the Lakes before they heard the news about the affair at Manchester, and provides his views on the incident.
