  • Title
Frederick, Inverness to Baroness Grantham, Scarborough They arrived in Inverness last night, and had difficulty in finding rooms, due to the elections. They sailed from Oban to Inverness, a distance of 35 miles, however the wind hindered their progress, and they were forced to land 14 miles from Inverness. There were no horses, and they were forced to walk the distance, and did not reach Acoss until between 7 and 8 pm. They were forced to share a room at the inn they lodged in, however the beds and food were good. They crossed to Mr MacDonald's at Staffin by ferry next day, and they were welcomed by his wife and daughters, before proceeding to Ballefurlis. The next morning they walked to Glencoe, and continued on to Fort William, which they arrived at in the evening. They intended to see Ben Nevis, however heavy rain prevented their excursion. Asks her to direct her letters to Castle Grant.
