    Janson, Newby Hall to Baroness Grantham Hopes she has received the supplies he sent by mail coach, and sorry to hear Mr Robinson is unwell. Discuses the servants; Mary Miller from Newby Park is to take care of the house; Anne Rider and the old woman will work in the dairy; and the boy is to have £7 p.a. and be provided with livery. He encloses an account of the linen in the house, [listed on the reverse of the letter]. The school mistress is not thought to be a good teacher, and several parents have withdrawn their children, and sent them to a local school master in the village. Replies to the questions and orders contained in her last letter. He will keep the wines as she requested, and they have only one Alderney cow, a cow, a calf and one bull. Mr Robinson agreed the rents [from the manors and tenants] should be paid on the same days as was usual during Mr Weddell's lifetime.
