    Fitzherbert, Paris to Grantham (private) M. de Castries has not as yet executed the exchange of passports for the English and French passage boats, not having received the name of the latter from Calais. Had sent down provisional orders for the Dover boats to come in as usual under the Imperial Flag. De Vergennes anxious that Britain should settle matters with Spain. Count D'Estaign is to set out for Madrid. All this is being done under the supposition that Britain is willing to sell Gibraltar. The "bickerings" between De Vergennes and De Castries increase daily.
