Note sent to M. de Kageneck and M. de Simolin by Grantham enclosed in L 29/560/21/1 In response to the Insinuation Verbale, presented on behalf of the two Imperial courts, a courier has been sent to Vienna who will post the instructions regarding mediation. The King is persuaded that the Empress/Emperor will see with interest and satisfaction the honourable result of the direct negotiation between England and France and England and Spain. The Preliminaries are already signed and if the Empress/Emperor is ready to cooperate in this work the King hopes that she/he will give the necessary powers to their ministers in Versailles.
