- TitleHarris, St. Petersburg to Grantham (2, Private) Harris expresses his wish to leave. He refers to enclosed letters (not present) to Lord Stormont and Fox. The climate disagrees with Harris and there is "not a single woman here fit to associate" with Lady Harris. His affairs are in disorder and his presence in England is required for many reasons. He asks Grantham if he can be recalled. He wishes to be employed at the peace-making and has written regarding the same to Lord Shelbourne. Suggests his successor should be Mr Carew.
