At 1.30 p.m. the 20th Bn.Kings Liverpool Regiment commenced to relieve the Battalion. Relief complete by 3.30 p.m. The Battalion then withdrew to Support Billets at BIENVILLERS. Casualties 2 P.R. [sic] wounded. 17 Nov 1916 Battalion in support at BIENVILLERS. Lieutenant J.W.HURRELL proceeded on leave. Major J.W.H.T.DOUGLAS rejoined from 3rd Army School and took over command of Battalion from captain R.O.WYNNE. Sick wastage for week ending 17.11.16 19 O.R. 18 Nov 1916 - support billets at Berles-au-Bois At 9 a.m. 2 Companies of the 5th Bn.K.O.Y.L.I. and 2 Companies of the 4th Bn.Yorks and Lancs Regiment commenced to relieve the Battalion in BIENVILLERS which was completed about 11 a.m. the Battalion then proceeded to BERLES Village in support arriving about 12.30 p.m. relieving the 2nd Bn. Yorkshire Regiment, 21st Brigade. 7 Other Ranks joined from Base. During the night of 17/18th there was a very heavy fall of snow. 19 Nov 1916 Support Billets BERLES. 2nd Lieutenant A.YOUNG rejoined from leave. 20 Nov 1916 Support Billets BERLES. Casualties NIL. 21 Nov 1916 Support Billets BERLES. Casualties Nil. 22 Nov 1916 - front line trenches near Berles-au-Bois Support Billets BERLES. Lt.Colonel H.S.POYNTZ rejoined from leave and took over command of Battalion. The Battalion left at 1 p.m. to relieve the 20th Bn.Kings Liverpool Regiment in the Trenches at BERLES, B.1., Subsector. Relief complete by 2.30 p.m. Battalion held the line from W.29.c.3/7 on Right to W.23.b.2/3 on Left - Trenches 93 to 108, inclusive. At 4.55 a.m. the enemy opened up a very heavy bombardment on the Trenches just to our Right chiefly with Trench Mortars this lasted about one hour. 24 Nov 1916 Trenches BERLES 2nd Lieutenant F.HAGUE admitted to Hospital Sick. Casualties 2 O.R. Wounded. Sick Wastage for week ending 24th 5 O.R. 25 Nov 1916 Trenches BERLES. Raining all day. A very quiet day and night. Lieutenant H.E.MUDFORD proceeded on leave. Major J.W.H.T.DOUGLAS proceeded to take temporary Command of 20th Bn.Kings Liverpool Regiment and Captain R.O.WYNNE to command 17th Bn.Kings Liverpool Regt. 2nd Lieutenant L.A.L.FINK took over command of "C" Company. Casualties NIL. 26 Nov 1916 Trenches BERLES. Casualties NIL. A very hard frost set in at night. 27 Nov 1916 Trenches BERLES. casualties 1 O.R. Wounded. 28 Nov 1916 - Humbercamps Trenches BERLES. At 1 p.m. the 20th Bn.Kings Liverpool Regiment commenced to relieve the Battalion. Relief completed by 2.30 p.m. The Battalion then withdrew to Billets in HUMBERCAMPS and became Divisional Reserve.
