Right leg, 2 patrols (Coy) went out nothing to report. Capt H.W.Cronin reported back from English leave. 30 Sep 1917 Quiet day nothing unusual to Report. Trench Routine Appendix A 1/5th BEDFORDSHIRE REGIMENT ORDER No 4 28 Sep 17 Ref Map GAZA 1/20000 1. RELIEF. 1/5th Bedfordshire Regiment will relieve 1/4th Norfolk R. in No.4 Section of the Coastal Sector on the night of Sept 29/30th. 1/10th London Regt will be in No.5 Section on Right and 1/4th Northampton Regt will be in No.3 Section on Left 2. DISPOSITIONS C Coy 1/5th Bedf R. will relieve A Coy 1/4th Norfolk R. in RIGHT of SECTION with 1 Stokes Gun attached. D Coy 1/5th Bedf R will relieve 'C' Coy 1/4th Norfolk R in LEFT of SECTION with 1 MG and 1 Stokes Gun attached. A Coy 1/5th Bedf R will relieve B Coy 1/4th Norfolk R in MERIONETH REDOUBT with 3 MG's attached HQ and B Coy 1/5th Redf R will relieve HQ & D Coys 1/4th Norfolk R in reserve at P.31.d.2.6. Transport will take over Transport Lines of 1/4th Norfolk Regt at C.34 WADI GHUZZE. Aid Post at P.31.d.2.6 3. ADVANCED PARTIES Each Coy also S.O., I.O., T.O., Q.M. & M.O. will send usual advance parties. these will arrive in No.4 Section not later than 1600 on 28th Sept. 4. MOVE. Coys will march (in order as per margin) [D Coy, C, A, B] under their own Commanders via SLAG HEAP and track SW of AWAKE HILL, leading Coy entering KURD VALLEY at 1900. HQ Coy will move by Sections as convenient 5. ALARM. In the event of an Alarm on the march the leading Coy will halt under the nearest cover and the remainder of the Battn will close up in its vicinity 6. TAKING OVER Each Coy will take over Trench Maps, Defence Schemes, trench and Area Stores &c. and will give receipts in triplicate. These will reach Bn HQ by 0600 on 30th Sept. No unit will relieve 1/5th Bedf R in present area, all documents relating to this sub sector will be handed to the Adjutant (and receipts taken) by 0700 29th Sept. The Q.M. will have all area stores ready to be handed over in situ by the CO to the Staff Captain by 1700 on 29th Sept 7 SUPPLIES &C. On completion of relief water for men and animals will be drawn from C35 WADI GHUZZE. Refitting Point will be at AJJUL FARM 8 COMPLETION OF RELIEF. Coys will report completion of relief by code word KUBRI 9 REPORT Battn HQ will close at KURD HILL at 1900 29th Sept and open at present 1/4th Norfolk R.
