    (i) Edwin Bliss of Barbican, London, brush manufacturer; Joseph Mead of Luton, grocer; George Gibson of Basinghall Street, London, esquire; (ii) Richard Waring of Luton, grocer, tallow chandler and ironmonger, late a bankrupt and Frances, his wife; (iii) George Waring of Great Russell Street, St.George, Bloomsbury [Middlesex], artist's colourman Reciting: - will of Frances Mead of Luton, widow, of 27 Mar 1834 devised a messuage and shop in Market Hill, Luton to her son-in-law Richard Waring; - death of Frances Mead in Jun 1834 and subsequent proof of her will in PCC; - auction sale at Red Lion, Luton of buildings and land occupied as part of Red Lion by Gough on 13 May 1836 in 7 lots, Lots 6 and 7 comprising two pieces of ground with coachhouse and stables and certain rights of way, which were, together, bought by Richard Waring for 175 on which he paid 35 as deposit and 5/2/1 auction fees; - Richard Waring pulled down the buildings on the former Red Lion land, erecting a wagon lodge, warehouse and covered gateway communicating with rear of premises devised to him by Frances Mead; - balance of purchase money for auction lot, with interest, still outstanding although Charles Austin of Luton, gentleman, declared himself real vendor at auction and Richard Waring, Edwin Bliss and Joseph Mead had failed to obtain an abstract of title to the premises from him because certain people claimed to be mortgagees of the property with a right to avoid the sale; - release by mortgage of 30 Dec 1837 between (1) Richard and Frances Waring; (2) George Waring; (3) William Sharp, glass and lead merchant, John Sharp, butcher, Edmund Sharp, gentleman; (4) Rev.John Charles Williams of High Wycombe [Buckinghamshire]; John Randall of Inner Temple, London, gentleman; (5) Jonathan Brundrett of Inner Temple, gentleman in which (4) lent 1,000 at 5% interest to (1) secured on property devised to (1) by Frances Mead; - agreement of 8 Feb 1838 by Richard Waring to make a mortgage for the 500 he owed to George Waring for purchase of the auctioned premises above; - fiat of bankruptcy of 21 May 1839 against Richard Waring and appointment on 23 May of George Gibson to be Official Assignee in Bankruptcy and Edwin Bliss and Joseph Mead, as creditors, to be Assignees of estate of Richard Waring; - 1,000 plus interest of 14/19/3 owing to John Charles Williams and John Randall and 500 plus 9/15/7 interest still owing to George Waring; - premises devised by Frances Mead to Richard Waring sometime since valued at 1,655 without incumbrances but at auction of Jul 1840 500 was the highest bid, so the Assignees, instead agreed to sell the premises with incumbrances of 1,000 and interest and 500 and interest to George Waring for 120; - Assignees contracted to sell fixtures of devised premise to George Waring for 112/15/2 Operative Part: - (i), with agreement of (ii), released (a) to (iii) for 232/15/2 Property [as shown on included plan]: (a) messuage (formerly two messuages) in Market Hill, Luton, street formerly known as Chipp[rest obscured by stamp], fronting on Market House and [messuage] formerly known as Cross Keys formerly in occupation of James Crawley and Andrew Furrian, then Matthew Coles, then Joseph Mead, then Frances Mead, the Richard Waring, now unoccupied bounded one side by messuage formerly of Thomas Chapman in occupation of Thomas Waller, surgeon on other side by messuage formerly of John Tho[rest obscured by stamp] in occupation of Sheppard; (b) right of Richard Waring to land adjoining (a) purchased on 30 May 1836, ground being 36ft long and 24-28ft wide with wagon lodge, warehouse and buildings erected by Richard Waring and now unoccupied Witnesses: - Francis Harrison of Luton, draper; (ii) George Waring; (iii) Edmund Sharp of Devonshire Terrace, St.Marylebone, gentleman; (iv) Daniel Brown of Park Street, Luton, esquire; (v) John Foster of Luton, gentleman; (vi) Henry Coles Brown of Luton, corn dealer Reciting: - mortgage debt of 500 owed to (ii) considered sunk into equity of (a)-(b) on (ii)'s purchase in release above; - assignment and release of 30 Jun 1841 between (1) John Charles Williams and John Randall; (2) John Randall and William Simmons, executors of Jonathan Brundrett; (3) John Sharp; (4) Edmund Sharp in which (3) paid 1,025 to (1), (1) assigned the mortgage to (3) and (2) assigned the remainder of the term of 500 years to (4); - (i) agreed on 1 May 1841 to lend 600 to (ii) of which 393/1/5 was actually advanced, together with later sums; it had been agreed that part of the money should cover repair work to the mortgaged premises by (ii) which he did not, in fact, do, therefore the whole sum of 600 was not advanced; on 31 May 1842 (i) and (ii) settled their accounts determining that a total of 519/13/8 had, in fact, been advanced; - 1,000 and 519/13/8 still outstanding together with arrears of interest standing at 96/15/8 making a total of 1,616/9/4; - (ii) had contracted to sell (a)-(b) to (iv) for 1,630/18/4 Operative Part: - (iv) paid 1,616/9/4 to (i) by direction of (ii); - (iv) paid 14/9/- to (ii); - (i), by direction of (ii), released (a)-(b) to (iv);
