    Abstract of Title of Francis Foster to land in Stopsley, Luton (I) Lease & Release 1-2 May 1792 Parties: (1) William Handsom of Barton [Yorkshire] (nephew and devisee in fee in will of William Handsom late of Stopsley, Luton, yeoman, deceased) and Elizabeth, his wife; (2) Joseph Williamson of Luton, hatter (trustee appointed by William handsom, deceased of part of lands conveyed); (3) John Chase of Luton, surgeon Operative Part: - (1) and (2) released property to (2) for 945 paid to (1) Property - not abstracted (II) Fine of Michaelmas 33 George III - John Chase, plaintiff; - William Handsom and Elizabeth, his wife, deforciants; - 2 messuages, 2 cottages, 4 gardens, 4 orchards, 50 acres of land, 20 acres of pasture, 5 acres of wood and common of pasture for all cattle in Stopsley (III) Copy probate will of John Chase of 21 Oct 1836 including (amongst other things): - his farm, cottages, barns, stables, lands etc. with Darley and other plantations in his occupation and those of William Gilham, Thomas Butlin, Robert Dimmock and John Brett and three cottages in occupation of John Fell and others in Stopsley, Luton, containing altogether 157 acres to his son Frederick Chase and Joseph Holden Turner to use of testator's wife Frances for her life, remainder to his son Frederick subject to him paying 3,000 to himself and Joseph Holden Turner as trustees for investment to the benefit of the testator's son Edward and his wife and children in trust or, if Edward refused, then in trust for sale of real estate with half the proceeds going to Edward Chase (to be invested in trust by his trustees) and half to Frederick Chase; - Richard Smith Appleyard of Bloomsbury Square, London, Frederick Chase and Joseph Holden Turner to be executors (IV) Codicil of 28 Mar 1842 to will of John Chase [another codicil of 12 Feb 1838 did not affect the abstracted real estate] revoking the need for Edward Chase's money to be administered by trustees as he had "every reason to believe and hope that by removing the letter and restrictions imposed upon the share of his said son Edward in his said real and personal estate he would exercise a proper degree of prudence in the management and disposal thereof" (V) Will and codicils of John Chase proved in PCC on 26 Apr 1843 following his death on 2 Apr 1843, his widow Frances dying on 21 May 1846 (VI) Release of 6 Aug 1846 Parties: (1) Edward Chase of Luton, surgeon; (2) Frederick Chase of Luton, gentleman Reciting:: - will, codicils, death etc. of John Chase; - (2) intended to accept devise of farm, farmhouse, lands, plantations, cottages etc. devised to him and had discharged 3,000 to (1) Operative Part: - (1) released to (2) the real estate devised in the will of John Chase in Stopsley (VII) Release of 13 Aug 1846 Parties: (1) Frederick Chase and Emily Thomasina, his wife; (2) Daniel Gilbert of Luton, gentleman [acting as trustee to bar dower] Reciting: - Emily Thomasina Chase was entitled to dower out of (a)-(b) and joined in the conveyance in order to bar that right Operative Part: - (1) released (a)-(b) to (2) for 10/- Property as described in an unabsatracted schedule: (a) parcels of arable and pasture land in Stopsley in occupations of William Gillham, Elizabeth Butlin, Robert Dimmock and William Ainsworth; (b) farm buildings relating to (a) together with three cottages Habendum: - to uses and trusts as laid out by Frederick Chase; to use of Frederick Chase for life; to use of (2) for life of Frederick Chase upon trust for Frederick Chase; to use of Frederick Chase (VIII) Office copy certificate of acknowledgement of Emily Thomasina Chase [of (VII)] of 20 Oct 1846
