Examinations and depositions: Depos. of Jas. Ford, Luton, victualler. Jn. Nunn came to his house with Wm. Hull and called for a pint of beer. J.N. said "Here is a Fifty Pound Note - give me change for it". J.F. sent the note to "Mr. Walker" where it proved to be a note for fifty pence; he then handed J.N. over to the constable. Depos. of Wm. Hull who saw Jn. Nunn eating his dinner in the Horseshoes at Leagrave Marsh. He said "well Farmer I a'nt broke yet I have got Fifty Pounds". The landlady was going to give him change for a pound note for his beer but he told her it was a 50 note. J.N. told him he was the youngest of eleven children and his father had left them all 10,000 except him and that he had left him 200 a year "because he was wild" and he received 50 a quarter. There were ten weeks to go before the next 50 was due. They went together to Luton to the house of Jas. Ford. (See 223)
