Examined copy Admission Recites enrolment at Court Baron held 20 January 1728 of homage presentments witnessing: that at/?since (citra) the last General Court baron held on 23 May last [1727] John Shotbolt and his wife Mary, customary tenants of the manor, surrendered (a) MS's third part in a messuage or tenement (divided into separate dwellings habitaciones) in Langford then or late in the occupations of Thomas Jackson, Samuel Wild and Anne Major or one of them, and all her other copyhold land within the manor which had descended to her and her (a)...two sisters from their late brother Joseph Baccus, with all ways, commons and appurtenances to the same. (b) messuage, cottage or tenement in Langford then or late in the occupation of William Piggot senior, with orchard/s Arcis [?], commons and appurtenances, which premises had been surrendered to MS to her own sole and separate use by George Cooper. ...(a), after the death of MS, to their son Joseph Shotbolt, his heirs and assigns according to the custom of the manor upon condition and charged with payment, within one year after the death of MS, 20s. to Mary Robinson, daughter of JS/MS, for the use of Mary Shotbolt junior, grand-daughter of JS/MS, and £7 to Anne Shotbolt, another daughter of JS/MS ...(b), after the death of MS, to the use of Sarah Shotbolt, another daughter of JS/MS, her heirs and assigns etc. but charged with payment, within one year after the death of MS, of 2s. 6d, to JS the son and 20s. to AS. that MS died seized of the premises and that neither JS nor SS had been admitted to the premises. Witnesses admission of JS to (a) habendum conditionally as above at the will of the lord, according to the custom of the manor, by fealty, suit of court, a rent of 2d per annum, and other accustomed services; and payment of an entry fine [not recorded in this copy.
