Vertical Engine Price Agreement No 2. Agreement between W H Allen Sons & Co Ltd, Belliss & Morcom Ltd, Blackstone & Co Ltd, Crossley Brothers Ltd, Davey, Paxman & Co Ltd, English Electric Co Ltd, Harland & Wolff Ltd, Mirrlees, Bickerton & Day Ltd, National Gas & Oil Engine Co Ltd, Ruston & Hornsby Ltd and Sulzer Brothers (London) Ltd. The agreement set mutually agreed minimum prices to ensure that competition did not mean manufacturers of oil engines were having to sell at a price that did not cover their costs. The original agreement was made in 1935.
